Applications are invited for 1 full-time Locum Consultant Cardiac Surgeon, on a 6 months, fixed term basis, to support services in the Manchester Heart Institute across Manchester . The position will be based at Wythenshawe Hospital.Manchester Royal InfirmaryThe Manchester Royal Infirmary on the Oxford Road campus is a major university teaching hospital and a tertiary centre for cardiothoracic and cardiology services for the Greater Manchester region. It is also a Level 2 Adult Congenital Heart Disease centre, a Regional centre for Obstetric Cardiology, a Major Trauma Centre and a Major arterial centre for Vascular Surgery.Wythenshawe HospitalThe Wythenshawe Hospital site is also a tertiary centre for cardiothoracic and cardiology services for the Greater Manchester region, and provides quaternary level services in heart and lung transplantation. It has been designated as the hub site for the MFT Single Cardiac Service.Candidate will be expected to participate in a cardiac surgery on call rota, which operate on a 1 in 4 basis.Main duties of the jobApplications are invited for 1 full-time Locum Consultant Cardiac/Cardiothoracic Transplantation Surgeon to support services at Wythenshawe Hospital.As the leading provider of tertiary and specialist healthcare services in Manchester the Trust treats more than a million patients every year. The post holders will be part of a team of 50 Consultant Cardiologists and 16 visiting Consultants in the Manchester Heart Institute.A successful candidate with appropriate Cardiac surgery experience will be primarily based at Wythenshawe Hospital.
