  • Support prototype vehicle integration of an electric drive unit controller into a customer vehicle.
  • Work closely with the customer engineers to manage prototype vehicle electronic interfaces to the YASA powertrain.
  • Work closely as part of the YASA software team to investigate and resolve issues relating to vehicle integration.
  • Manage prototype vehicle application specific calibration for the YASA motor controller.
  • Provide customer support for controller software setup, electronic integration and track testing.
  • Supporting dyno and track testing activities as required.
  • Collecting and analysing of vehicle electric powertrain test logged data to allow optimising software parameters.
To succeed in this role, we believe you'll need:
  • A relevant degree such as computer science or automotive engineering.
  • A good understanding of embedded control systems.
  • Familiar with common automotive software calibration tools such as Vector CANape or ETAS INCA for data logging and parameter tuning.
  • Experience with CAN communication protocol.
  • Ability to read and understand software control strategies implemented with Simulink models.
  • Instinctive problem-solving skills coupled with a sound analytical approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure while managing conflicting demands against tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Though not expected, it would be very beneficial if you have:
  • Familiar with industry best practices for software calibration management.
  • Knowledge of common automotive communication and calibration protocols.
  • An understanding of vehicle electric drive systems and their control strategies.
  • Hands on software testing in a dyno or trackside environment.
  • Motor sport dyno or trackside experience.
