We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team based in South Yorkshire, supporting a range of civil engineering and water infrastructure projects. Working closely with senior commercial staff, youll gain hands-on experience in cost management, contract administration, and procurement, contributing to the successful delivery of high-profile water and utility schemes.Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets, valuations, and cost forecastsSupport in the measurement and valuation of works, both on-site and from drawingsContribute to subcontractor procurement, tendering, and contract negotiationsMonitor project variations and assist with the preparation of change control documentationHelp ensure financial compliance with client frameworks and NEC contractsAssist in the preparation of monthly cost/value reports and cashflow forecastsWork collaboratively with engineers, site teams, and external stakeholdersSupport senior QS staff in dispute resolution and final account agreementsRequirements:
Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline0-2 years experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within civil engineering or water sectorsFamiliarity with NEC contracts (beneficial but not essential)Strong numeracy and analytical skillsExcellent communication and team-working abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Excel and other commercial software toolsDesirable Experience:
Exposure to infrastructure projects such as pipelines, water treatment plants, drainage, or utilitiesUnderstanding of cost control systems and processesFull UK driving licence
