Solution Architect - Billing Platform London (Hybrid) | Contract Inside IR35 | 3 month initial contractAre you an experienced Solution Architect with a passion for designing modern, scalable billing solutions? This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-profile UK organisation at the forefront of financial services, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their billing and invoicing systems.The Role As the Solution Architect, you will lead the design and evolution of a next-generation billing platform. You'll collaborate closely with senior stakeholders, project teams, and technical delivery functions to deliver a solution that is scalable, compliant, and user-friendly - empowering the business to configure and adapt billing logic with agility.Your work will directly impact how millions of customers and businesses experience fair, transparent, and efficient financial services.
Key Responsibilities
  • Define the solution vision and high-level design for a modern billing platform.
  • Document the current 'as-is' architecture across Microsoft Dynamics 365, Workday, and other core systems.
  • Design the target 'to-be' architecture aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Partner with delivery teams to validate and oversee low-level designs.
  • Assess and recommend technologies that support business rule management.
  • Ensure architectural decisions meet security, compliance, and operational efficiency requirements.
  • Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, delivery teams, and platform owners.
Tech Environment
  • Core Systems: Microsoft Dynamics 365 CS (D365), Workday
  • Integration & Messaging: Azure Service Bus (ASB), NServiceBus
  • Business Rules Engine: Oracle Policy Automation (OPA)
  • Desirable: Experience with low-code platforms, business rules engines, and event-driven architectures

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of billing, invoicing, and financial workflows.
  • Track record of designing solutions that empower business-led configuration.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
