- Assist in sourcing suppliers via compliant routes to market
- Liase with Key internal and external stake holders to ensure excellent communication in line with DSFS core values
- Ensure that all procurement activity is carried out in line with the appropriate SFIs
- Help to ensure that goods and services are obtained in the most cost effective manner.
- Apply whole life costing techniques to ensure best value
- Support change and innovation to ensure that the department continues to evolve
- Work closely with suppliers to develop effective partnerships.
- Ensure that the department meets it CIP targets by identifying savings opportunitys
- oGood general standard of education including Mathematics and English Language to GCSE Grade C or equivalent
- oCommercial Apprenticeship or commercial focus or business background/education
- oRecognised procurement qualification
- oLevel 4 of Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) or equivalent procurement experience
- oExperience of negotiating with suppliers and customers in a large organisation and track record of achieving significant cost reductions
- oExperience of obtaining competitive quotations
- oExperience of a customer service environment
- oExperience of working within the public sector and working knowledge of EU regulations
- oKnowledge of procurement department procedures gained through on the job training
- oExperience of using a "procure to pay" system e.g. Unit 4 (Agresso)
- oWorking knowledge of public sector procurement processes
- oExcellent communication skills
- oAnalytical thinking
- oWorking knowledge of Procurement ordering systems
- oAbility to use e-procurement tendering systems
- oIntermediate Excel Skills
