- Act as the main point of contact for all Materials, Plant, and PPE purchasing.
- Manage procurement through internal databases and software, including raising purchase orders.
- Source quotes, build supplier relationships, and maintain supplier account records.
- Coordinate vehicle hire and manage associated logs and insurance.
- Log, track, and audit tools and plant equipment to ensure servicing, calibration, and correct location.
- Maintain office and external stores, ensuring all materials and equipment are recorded with necessary compliance documentation.
- Liaise with Contracts teams to reduce waste and manage resource availability.
- Maintain Regional PPE and Asset Registers.
- Support product research and development aligned with environmental and social value goals.
- Collaborate closely with the Regional Admin & Procurement team to ensure accurate invoicing and reporting.
- Provide cover and support to other team members when required.
- Assist HR and Training in onboarding and developing procurement staff.
- Promote innovation, professionalism, and high standards across all procurement activities.
- Contribute to health & safety, sustainability, and social value objectives.
- Significant previous experience as a Buyer, preferably within the construction industry.
- A-Level / NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification.
- Fully conversant with modern office equipment and Microsoft Office.
- Strong financial acumen.
- A full UK Driver’s license.
- Written and verbal reporting / presentation skills.
- The ability to mentor other team members within the procurement team.
- Strong organisational and negotiation skills.
- A keen attention to detail whilst being able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
