Salary: £90 – £120 per day (depending on experience and training)About the Role:A supportive and inclusive SEND school in Milton Keynes is seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to work with children who have Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. Pupils may experience difficulty with basic literacy, numeracy, memory, social understanding, and personal organisation.The ideal candidate will have experience supporting pupils with additional needs and a calm, patient approach.Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils in understanding instructions and breaking down tasks
- Assist students with sequencing and memory-based activities
- Promote independence with routines, learning, and social interaction
- Deliver tailored support in literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement IEP strategies
- Encourage positive behaviour and help develop students’ confidence and self-esteem
- Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups, adapting resources and tasks where needed
- Experience working with children with MLD, SEN, or learning difficulties
- A nurturing and patient approach to behaviour and emotional regulation
- Confidence managing varied levels of ability and communication needs
- Understanding of how to support pupils with memory, organisation, and processing challenges
- Moving and Handling training (or willingness to undertake training)
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable)
