Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only | Temp to Perm PotentialThe Opportunity:Are you passionate about supporting young people with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs?We are recruiting a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to work within a specialist PRU setting in Aylesbury, starting in September 2025. This is a full-time position supporting students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.You will be working closely with pupils aged 11–16, helping them develop social skills, emotional regulation, and a positive attitude to learning.Your Role Will Include:Building strong relationships with pupils based on consistency, trust, and respectProviding in-class and out-of-class support to help manage behaviour and engagementSupporting pupils in regulating emotions using de-escalation and calming techniquesWorking closely with the SENCo, Behaviour Lead, and external agenciesContributing to behaviour plans and supporting positive changeDelivering small group and 1:1 mentoring sessionsAbout the PRU:This is a specialist setting that offers a nurturing and structured environment for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH). Staff are committed to offering therapeutic support, academic progression, and life skills to prepare students for reintegration or next steps in their education.Ideal Candidate:Previous experience in a PRU, alternative provision, or with SEMH/behavioural needsAbility to manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectivelyA trauma-informed, resilient, and empathetic approachStrong communication skills and a proactive attitudeTeam player with commitment to inclusionDBS on the Update Service or willingness to applyTo Apply:Send your CV to: Joel.Senior
