Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 36.40 hours per weekWe are seeking a dedicated and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to a wonderful school in Oldham, supporting children who are being educated at home. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by delivering high-quality, personalised learning outside the traditional classroom.About the RoleAs a HLTA, you will:
  • Complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under supervision.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging learning activities for individuals, small groups, or whole classes.
  • Monitor, assess, record and report on pupils’ achievement, progress and development.
  • Contribute to the coordination, development and delivery of our home tuition service.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a HLTA or in a similar role.
  • A full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months.
  • Access to your own vehicle with business insurance (essential, as the role involves travelling to pupils’ homes).
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • A commitment to supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.
Additional Information
  • Mileage undertaken each week will be reimbursed in line with Oldham Council guidelines (agency to establish and agree rate).
  • This is a full-time position starting ASAP / September 2025.
