HMP Wymott has capacity of around 1,100, and has a varied and complex population. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team, and work in a varied environment, where you will gain experience across primary care, including emergency response, working on the wings, clinics, health promotion, and more! No 2 days are the same in this challenging, yet rewarding and supportive environment. Please note that this is a clinical role, and we need candidates that are competent in skills such as Venepuncture, ECGs, NEWS2 etc Hours: This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week. Shifts are between 07:30 - 18:00, with alternating weekends. You will work 07:30 - 18:00 3 shifts per week, and 07:30 - 15:30 one shift per week Salary: This position is full time , youll receive an annual salary of £24,669 - £28,690 per annum - depending on experience How will we support you?Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training courseCompetency frameworkRegional and national career development opportunitiesOur bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needsCandidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checksMain duties of the jobAs our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
  • Ensure continuity of care for all patients, and deliver outstanding care at all times
  • Carry out bloods, obs, ECGs etc
  • Work across all areas of care, including inpatients, clinics, primary care, health promotion, bloods etc
  • Respond to emergency situations as needed
  • Work holistically with your patients and other healthcare staff, including nurses, nursing associates, pharmacy etc
  • Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
  • Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics

  • Hold a NVQ Level 2 / 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent
  • Have experience within a healthcare setting - hospital, community or secure setting
  • Have clinical experience, such as bloods, obs, ECGs etc
  • Any experience in primary care or inpatients would be a bonus!
  • Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
