A welcoming primary school in Watford is offering the perfect opportunity to get started.This full-time role as a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant offers hands-on classroom experience, mentorship from experienced educators, and the chance to make a direct impact on pupils’ learning and wellbeing.What You’ll Be Doing: Graduate Primary Teaching AssistantWorking closely with class teachers and SEN staff, you’ll provide both academic and emotional support for pupils in EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2. Your duties will include:
- Supporting children during lessons and assisting with day-to-day classroom activities
- Leading short group tasks and 1:1 interventions in subjects like phonics, literacy, and numeracy
- Helping to implement positive behaviour strategies and learning routines
- Providing tailored support to pupils with additional needs, such as SEN or EAL
- Collaborating with staff to prepare and adapt learning materials
- Encouraging pupil confidence, independence, and engagement in learning
- Educated to degree level (2:1 or higher preferred) – Psychology, Education, English, or related subjects are desirable
- Passionate about child development and inclusive education
- Excellent communicators with a proactive and empathetic attitude
- Confident working with young people in a school or similar environment (volunteering, mentoring, youth work, etc.)
- Considering a future in teaching, educational psychology, or therapy
- Weekly pay up to £550 – direct via PAYE
