Band 7 Trainee Nurse Practitioner (Breast)**Exciting opportunity for those wishing to progress in Breast nursing.**We are a large district general hospital with a well respected breast service offering exemplary care to breast patients.An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, proactive, innovative and motivated nurse to be part of the Breast Nurse Practitioner team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading.Applicants must be NMC registered and have experience within surgical and breast care nursing and be willing to work towards an MSc in Advanced Nursing Practice.The successful applicant will work within a dynamic team to provide care and support to breast patients primarily in the diagnostic phase of care.You will be supported to advance from trainee level to advanced nurse practitioner.Informal visits are most welcome.Main duties of the jobTriaging referrals into the breast service.Work within clinic undertaking nurse led assessments and initial management of patient care.Willing to undertake an MSC in advanced clinical practice.Perform a physical examination in relation to the presenting complaint and within scope of practice in the service.Elicit a comprehensive patient history appropriate to the clinical situation.Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of physiology and pathophysiology in a range of clinical conditions and disease processes (Breast).Participate and attend MDT meetings.Undertake follow up clinics, telephone clinics, and complete clinical letters.Liaise with GP's and community partners where needed.About usDiversity makes us interesting...
