By creating a fully integrated, digital platform, Eye-Docs seeks to enhance care quality, streamline operations, and drive business growth.About Eye-DocsFounded in 2002, Eye-Docs is a private ophthalmic clinic offering consultant-led services for comprehensive eye care. The clinic specialises in a variety of treatments, including cataract surgery, macular degeneration, oculoplastics, and vitreoretinal procedures.To support its strategic growth, Eye-Docs is investing in digital transformation to improve patient pathways, increase referrals from opticians, and enhance operational efficiency. The KTP will focus on:
  • Digital Integration: Seamlessly connect the Midlands Connect Portal (MCP) with Salesforce for two-way communication between opticians and the clinic.
  • Optician Engagement: Improve opticians' digital literacy to encourage wider MCP adoption.
  • Data Analytics: Create a structured data framework to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Operational Efficiency: Automate manual workflows, particularly around patient referrals and management.
This project provides a valuable opportunity to lead business change while applying academic theory in a practical, commercial context. The associate will work closely with senior academics from Aston University and the Eye-Docs management team.Candidate ProfileApplicants should hold a degree in Information Systems/Management, Data or Business Analytics, Digital Transformation, or Computer Science, along with experience in digital transformation, ideally within healthcare. A master's or PhD is desirable.Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Leading or participating in IT project delivery.
  • Web development using PHP and MySQL, including API integration and database optimisation.
  • Translating business needs into actionable data insights.
  • Familiarity with predictive analytics and CRM-based forecasting.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Motivation and interest in healthcare digital transformation.
Desirable:
  • Healthcare IT project experience.
  • Strategic change management in complex environments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather user and data requirements in clinical settings.
  • Collect, analyse, and visualise data to support reporting and decision-making.
