Teaching Assistant - York
Location: York & North Yorkshire

We're seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join secondary schools across York and the surrounding areas as a Teaching Assistant.Whether you have experience in education, childcare, mentoring, tutoring, or youth work, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on students' learning and development.As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in helping teachers deliver lessons, supporting individual student needs, and fostering a positive learning environment.Key Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:
  • Provide in-class support to enhance student learning and engagement
  • Assist with lesson preparation, activities, and classroom organisation
  • Work one-to-one or with small groups to meet specific learning needs
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage student participation
  • Help maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive classroom atmosphere

  • Experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)

Desirable (Not Essential) Qualifications:
  • Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning
  • Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools
  • Background in classroom support, childcare, or youth work
