- be a qualified UK senior solicitor with substantial experience in Financial Services Regulation gained at a leading City firm regulatory practice. A client secondment would be an advantage
- be able to demonstrate solid experience advising on perimeter analysis, wholesale banking, insurance and investment firms regulation, including authorisations and variations of permissions. Experience in commodities regulation or cryptocurrency regulation would be an advantage
- be comfortable navigating through the laws and regulations within the Rulebook and Handbook
- be able to handle project with minimal supervision, while supervising more junior members of the team
- possess strong interpersonal skills in addition to excellent oral and written communication, with regular public speaking internally and externally
- be an entrepreneurial self-starter who is excited by the opportunity to provide multi-disciplinary legal services in a different environment and manner while delivering a great service to clients
- be able to understand the legal solution within the wider picture and keen to become a more rounded business adviser
- be a relationship-builder who can spot and develop new opportunities and client relationships both within the KPMG network and externally. A desire to contribute to our business development activities in an effective and business-minded manner is an important attribute for the role
- providing legal advice on a broad range of client solutions spanning some or all of the areas of financial services regulation referred to above, including projects relating to:
- legal entity restructurings including international regulated companies alongside our tax and advisory teams
- cross border regulated activities
- product development including the use of new investment structures and vehicles
- customer journey transformation including contractual documentation support
- regulatory change projects
- large scale technology transformation projects
- building relationships with other KPMG teams and KPMG clients to develop and provide multi-disciplinary solutions
- managing engagements and driving projects to conclusion
- training and mentoring more junior team members
