
Solicitor/Associate - Commercial & Regulatory

- Drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts for health clients, such as supply and distribution agreements for medical devices (including software and AI medical devices) and agreements for the provision of clinical services.
- Supporting clients navigating complex regulatory issues throughout the product lifecycle, including advice on the regulation of software and AI medical devices and devising privacy-compliant processes.
- Supporting digital health companies on key legal documentation, including terms of use, standardised customer terms and privacy policies.
- Advising investors on the regulatory aspects of pharma, medtech, biotech and digital health corporate transactions, e.g. regulatory due diligence.
- Working on a broad range of data privacy related projects, including commercialising data and implementing AI. This will often include assisting digital health companies to map and understand data flows, advising on necessary steps to operate compliantly but also to maximise operational and business objectives.
- Taking part in and initiating marketing, networking and other business development activities in order to maintain and develop work from existing clients and potential clients, including assisting with client seminar and training delivery.
- Staying current with legal and sector knowledge, actively contributing to team expertise and ensuring compliance with data security protocols.
- 0-3PQE Solicitor with a keen interest in health, life sciences, medtech and digital health
- Experience advising life sciences and/or health clients is highly desirable, particularly in the context of any of commercial transactions, regulatory advice and/or data protection and privacy
- Confident communicator with an ability to develop relationships with clients and influence at all levels
- Excellent technical drafting skills and strong client-focused approach with practical, risk-based advice
- Collaborative team player who works effectively with colleagues and external advisors
- Change oriented with a positive, flexible approach towards the implementation of new initiatives
- Excellent academic background coupled with a keen grasp of legal issues, with a clear ability to learn quickly 'on the job'
- Ability to adopt a client focused and commercial perspective rather than an 'academic' approach to legal issues
