
Clinical Procurement Nurse

- To work with the procurement team, nurses, clinical staff and other stakeholders to identify products where quality can be maintained or enhanced, and costs can be reduced.
- To work with the procurement team and multiple clinical stakeholders to consider innovative / alternative procurement linked care pathways / value-based procurement opportunities.
- To help the Trust specific Product Evaluation Groups and the newly created System Product Evaluation Group with clinical procurement guidance on the introduction / swapping of products to create a better patent experience / create efficiencies and cost savings.
- To take overall management for the delivery of specified clinical procurement projects requiring specialist qualified nursing / midwifery or other qualified practitioner knowledge and skills and to do so in prescribed timelines
- oPost registration with current experience in acute clinical setting
- oHigh level clinical skills and knowledge
- oInvolvement in Nursing audit and Research
- oSubstantial experience of leading and managing a clinical team
- oManagerial ability
- oEvidence of coordinating and managing day to day operational issues on a regular basis
- oExperience in teaching and training of staff
- oExperience in undertaking a preceptor/mentor role
- oAn awareness and understanding of national and local issues that affect Nursing and the NHS as a whole.
- oUp to date knowledge and understanding of nursing policy and practice relevant to speciality
- oA knowledge of procurement function and practises
