Contract Type: Temp to Perm (8-week conversion)We are recruiting Class 2 Drivers for a leading distributor of food products and catering supplies, delivering into fish & chip shops and takeaways across the UK. With peak season running through spring and summer, this is a fantastic opportunity to secure long-term, stable work with the chance of a permanent position.The role includes driving a Class 2 vehicle delivering ingredients, packaging, and catering equipment. This is multi-drop work with up to 16 drops per day within a 2-2.5 hour radius of base. It is physically demanding, with up to 4-6 tons of stock moved per shift (stocked in trays, often without forklift support). Drivers will also handle cash, reconcile payments at the end of shifts, and complete manual paper-based delivery notes and timesheets. Excellent customer service is required on every drop.Requirements: Class 2 (Category C) licence with a maximum of 6 penalty points, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card, physically fit and comfortable with manual handling, good attention to detail for paperwork and cash reconciliation, professional and customer-focused. Fresh passes are welcome as full training is provided with a time-served colleague.Pay and benefits include £14.00 - £14.50 per hour (enhanced rate for certain shifts), weekly pay through payroll, minimum 6-hour pay guarantee per shift, 28 days paid holiday per year (pro rata), a temp to perm pathway after 8 weeks offering secure long-term work, and opportunities for progression into roles such as Driver Supervisor.
