2020 Recruitment are working with our North Ayrshire based client who are looking to add a NDT Technician to their team.This is a permanent position within the business and will be Monday to Friday working both days and nights on a rotational basis.This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-standing precision engineering business, well-respected within its industry for quality and reliability. Specialising in the manufacture of high-spec machined components, the company supports a range of sectors including oil and gas, energy, and heavy engineering.The RoleAs an NDT Technician you will work in collaboration with the NDT Supervisor encouraging positive open discussions on NDT deficiencies, safety and quality specifications making recommendations to improve processes, testing and safety.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAs the NDT Technician your duties and responsibilities will include:
  • NDE inspection using approved techniques & methods of NDE to defined standards, ensuring material is inspected and released with no NCR’s.
  • Assisting the NDT manager in any training of personnel/trainees.
  • Managing NDE consumables and calibrated equipment 3rd party witness involvement.
  • To perform in-house and on-site NDT techniques as required by the customer at all stages within the production route.

RequirementsTo be considered for the NDT Technician role you must have the following skills and experience:
  • PCN Level 2 qualified
  • MT, PT as a minimum
  • UT is preferred
  • Working knowledge within an engineering or machine shop environment
  • Be a UK resident or have the right to work in the UK
