Job Description:Principal Duties and Responsibilities· Serves as the point of contact for the client to ensure key information is communicated to the relevant party without ambiguity and, likewise, obtains key information requested by the client from the relevant party.· Serves as the liaison between Valaris and various service providers, or vice versa, to ensure operational requirements are effectively communicated and executed by the responsible department, HOD, or company.o Ensures all 3rd Party equipment coming onboard the rig, both permanent or temporary, has been properly communicated and/or evaluated by the relevant group.· Attends all client-related meetings for upcoming or current well operations including but not limited to; morning call, pre-section, casing running, cementing execution, logging operations, etc.· Responsible for generating and communicating daily performance in the client morning call.· Attends the client's 3rd party meeting each day and communicates Valaris' plan of action for the next 12 hours while incorporating all the 3rd Party upcoming scopes of work into the plan. The below focal points should be discussed:o Were there any incidents or accidents to report or any lessons learned that can improve safety and efficiency?o PTW requirements for the upcoming day along with lifting requirementso Performance vs. technical limit to determine if improvements can be madeo Focus extensively on offline and aux well, if applicable, operations to optimize time and preparationso Ensure all service providers are familiar with and adhering to Valaris policies, procedures, and standards while notifying them of any changeso Communicate lessons learned from previous wells that may impact the daily operationo Discuss all the current risks along with emerging risk to ensure the proper controls are in place to mitigate the hazards associated with each risk· Attends the daily HOD meeting and communicates any potential conflicts that may arise as a result of planned well operations or service provider requirements.· Responsible for updating the Valaris Daily Work Plan, or equivalent, with service provider daily operations highlighting any task that require a Permit to Work.· In conjunction with the Rig Manager, completes the Well Design Basis Review for each well by collaborating with the client's engineering team to identify potential deviations from the Valaris WCM, but also familiarize oneself with the execution plan proposed for drilling the well.· Responsible for generating a well file folder on the rig server that will be utilized as a central reference point for all the information pertaining to the well. The well file folder will consist of Valaris documents and client documents separated with subfolders created to maintain organization and quick access.· Responsible for uploading all client-related documents into the well file including but not limited to; basis of design, statement of requirements, drilling program, geologic operations program, kick tolerance info, mud program, casing program, cementing program, etc.· Generates a Tubular & BHA Requirements plan based on the client's drilling program to ensure all relevant components required to drill the well are available with current inspection certificates.o If deficiencies are noted, works with the client and Sr/Toolpusher to develop a solution or compromise.o The plan will be discussed with the Sr/Toolpusher to align the team on what actions, if any have to be taken to ensure readiness.· Develop a derrick management plan for each well based on the planned tubulars to be utilized, including casing that may be racked back in the derrick if applicable.o The plan must consider the tubulars function for the well operations so their position in the derrick correlates to their specific need so tripping efficiency is not jeopardized as a result of poor optimization.· Works with the client and service provider to develop BHA handling plans that evaluate mobilization time, methods for handling, derrick restrictions, equipment limitations, in addition to the personnel and time required to configure the assemblies.· Works with the client to develop logistical plans for equipment and personnel mobilized to and from the rig to ensure operations are adequately prepared for upcoming operations.· Reviews the supply vessel manifest prior to vessel arrival so a plan can be developed between the client and Deck Foreman or Crane Operator for offloading and backloading, prioritizing which equipment is relevant based on current or upcoming well operations.o Discusses deck optimization daily with the Deck Foreman or Crane Operator to determine if tools or equipment require transferring to improve organization or if they are ready for backloading.· Responsible for managing, updating, and distributing the “Lessons Learned Tracker” as needed.· In conjunction with the client, will govern the Lesson Learned Meeting each week and verify the party or individual accountable for each action is making a dedicated effort to amend the deficiency.· Responsible for tracking and evaluating KPI's, both static and dynamic, to determine our strengths and weaknesses so improvement plans can be generated to improve productively.Qualifications / Education· Must have a minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Toolpusher on an active drilling rig.· Must possess a High School diploma, or equivalent.· All relevant training requirements for current position must be valid.o Note: Training requirements may vary depending on geographical location and local regulations and requirements.· Must be familiar with the Microsoft Office Software suite, PDF Converter, and programs of similar function; and exhibit the competency to generate documents from the various programs for tracking and planning purposes.Skills & Experience· Must be committed to a standard of safety that never settles for the habitual norm but strives to exceed expectations through continual improvement.· Must have the ability to learn from past experiences, develop a new plan that incorporates these learnings, and effectively implement the changes in a way that allows the team members to successfully execute the plan.· Must be capable of independent decision making through sound judgement while considering the safety of all team members and the integrity of the rig and well.· Must be mentally capable of handling the vigorous responsibilities imposed from working in a confined Marine environment with dynamic and often complex operations.· Must possess organization skills that enables one to multitask with efficiency and effectiveness.· Must have excellent conflict resolution skills and be able to diplomatically handle confrontational situations that may develop between various groups.· Must possess good interpersonal skills and have the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse set of team members.· Must be physically capable of being transported to and from an offshore installation by either boat or helicopter.· Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet our business needs.BehaviorsAs part of our commitment to fostering a high-performance culture, employees are expected to align their actions and decisions with the principles outlined in our Behavioral Framework.
