CANDIDATES WHO ARE CURRENTLY ON A BAND 5 PRECEPTORSHIP HERE AT THE LUTON & DUNSTABLE HOSPITAL ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE.As a Band 6 Radiographer at Luton & Dunstable University Hospital, you will undertake a pivotal role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services across a range of modalities, including general radiography, CT, and fluoroscopy. This position offers an opportunity to work with advanced imaging technologies and contribute to a dynamic, patient-centred environment.In addition to clinical duties, Band 6 Radiographers are expected to take on leadership responsibilities such as coordinating workflow, managing daily operational issues, training and mentoring junior colleagues and students, and ensuring compliance with radiation protection and health and safety policies.Please note that interviews for this vacancy will be conducted exclusively in person.Main duties of the jobKey Responsibilities:Perform a wide range of radiographic procedures independently and to a high standard.Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with NHS policies.Supervise, support, and train Band 5 Radiographers and student radiographers.Contribute to quality assurance, audit, and continuous improvement initiatives.Ensure safe use of equipment and compliance with IR(ME)R and radiation safety guidelines.Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide seamless patient care.Participate in departmental on-call and shift rotas as required. * To show a high level of professionalism whilst working and adhering to local rules and policies.Requirements:
  • BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
  • Current HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
  • Minimum of 12-18 months post-qualification experience, preferably in a Band 5 role.
  • Evidence of CPD and willingness to engage in further training.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
