- Keeping us Spotless & Safe: Oversee both planned and reactive maintenance across stations and depots, from platforms and waiting areas to offices, restrooms, and signage ensuring everything is clean, safe, and welcoming.
- Inspiring your Team: Lead and schedule a talented crew of maintenance staff, contractors, and technicians, making sure tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Championing Safety & Standards: Make sure every maintenance activity aligns with health and safety regulations, KAM and TfGM standards, and environmental best practices.
- Planning Ahead: Create and manage proactive maintenance schedules to keep disruptions to a minimum and extend the life of our assets. You’ll also keep our systems updated and carry out regular audits and checks.
- Collaborating Across the Network: Work closely with other KAM departments, TfGM, and third-party contractors to ensure maintenance efforts are well-coordinated and seamless.
- Smart Budgeting: Keep a close eye on maintenance budgets, approve spending, and make sure resources are used wisely and effectively.
- Lead the charge when unexpected issues arise, whether it’s infrastructure failures, weather-related damage, or urgent safety concerns ensuring swift and effective responses.
- You’ll have a relevant degree in Civil Engineering, Facilities Management, or of a similar field that is equivalent hands-on experience
- Understand the ins and outs of railway infrastructure and maintenance protocols, and you’re confident applying that knowledge in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communicator keeping everyone informed and aligned
- Lead from the front bringing vision and positivity and empowering others around you to do their best work
- Comfortable using maintenance management systems and reporting tools to keep everything running smoothly and transparently
- Safety First, know your way around health and safety regulations and always put safety and wellbeing at the heart of your work
- Experience managing statutory compliance areas like asbestos, legionella (water hygiene), PUWER, and LOLER and take pride in doing things the right way
- Adaptability when required, ready to embrace new ideas, technologies and ways of working
- Problem solving using creativity and logic to uncover smart, effective solutions
