- Scheduling of staff maintenance/project activities and supervision of service contractors to increase plant performance and support the business objectives while ensuring standards are upheld.
- Conduct appraisals to manage the performance of the team and identify areas for further development.
- Ensure the completion of all engineering administration to support traceability, audit compliance and inventory control. Ensure information is communicated accurately and in time to support department KPI's.
- Support the Engineering Manager with projects, budgeting and cost control.
- Ensure cooperation between the Engineering teams and with other departments to encourage teamwork and achieve high productivity.
- Be familiar with operations/equipment and cooperate with other departments to support problem-solving and drive plant performance.
- Assist new colleagues to integrate into the role and the business.
- Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures including Food Safety and Health and Safety legislation requirements. As an employee, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 requires you to take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other people at work.
- Responsibility for measuring effectiveness including, Downtime, Recurring issues, Development of team members, supporting audits and plant heath and safety.
- Relevant Engineering experience and qualifications to HNC level, ideally in a food production environment.
- Supervisory and leadership experience.
