OverviewAre you passionate about improving population health and reducing inequalities?Do you develop evidence-based and innovative public health projects and evaluate your work?Do you have a track record of working in partnership across organisations to make a difference for communities?We are recruiting to two permanent, full time Public Health Practitioners positions, who will develop and deliver an effective range of public health prevention programmes in the following lead areas:
  • Children and Young People - Helping ensure that all children and young people in Buckinghamshire get the best start in life and grow up healthy, happy, and safe.
  • Wider Determinants of Health - Support our new Work and Health programme and contribute to our Healthy Place Shaping initiatives.
You will also be willing and able to change your work areas according to the needs of the Public Health team.The posts will be managed by a Public Health Principal and be part of a wider team of fellow Public Health Practitioners.About usBuckinghamshire Council is seeking two enthusiastic and experienced Public Health Practitioners to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Public Health team. Any-Desk:As an 'any-desk' worker, you'll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.About youWe're looking for candidates who:
  • Have substantial experience in public health or health promotion roles.
  • Hold a relevant first degree and postgraduate qualification in an area related to health promotion and/or public health or have at least three years' experience in a related role within a local authority, NHS, or voluntary sector.
  • Are skilled in partnership working across other local authority service areas, other service providers (both in the NHS and voluntary and community sector), the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) and other relevant national and area leads.
  • Are committed to reducing health inequalities and improving population health.
