Location: PortsmouthInspire a Love for Languages and Global CultureSupply Desk is working with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Portsmouth to appoint an enthusiastic Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher for a full-time role starting in September 2025. This is a long-term position through to December 2025, with a strong possibility of becoming a permanent post for the right candidate.You’ll be joining a supportive and experienced MFL department, delivering engaging lessons in French and/or Spanish across Key Stages 3 and 4, and encouraging students to develop their language skills, cultural awareness, and confidence in communication.Whether you’re an experienced language teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) with a passion for international education, we want to hear from you.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver high-quality MFL lessons that inspire and challenge students.Adapt teaching methods to meet a range of learning needs and abilities.Foster a classroom culture of curiosity, respect, and language appreciation.Assess and track student progress, offering clear feedback and support.Contribute to extracurricular language activities, such as clubs or trips.About the SchoolA well-regarded, mixed secondary school in Portsmouth, catering to ages 11–16.Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, with a strong emphasis on community and personal development.Committed to high academic standards and inclusive learning.Excellent staff support and ongoing professional development.Accessible via public transport and major road links.What We’re Looking ForA degree in French, Spanish, or a closely related subject (required).Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (preferred).Experience teaching MFL at KS3 and KS4.Passion for language teaching and cultural education.Strong classroom management and communication skills.What You’ll ReceiveCompetitive daily pay: £160–£240, depending on experience.Access to professional training and development opportunities.Ongoing support from the school and your Supply Desk consultant.Potential for a permanent contract.Pension contributions and additional benefits.Interested?
