
Sterile Services Technician

- Cleaning, checking, assembling, packing, sterilising, and distributing medical devices in line with strict infection control and safety protocols.
- Ensuring all instruments are fit for purpose prior to patient use.
- Monitoring sterilisation and washer-disinfector equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Performing daily validation tests and keeping accurate traceability records.
- Carrying out quality checks for cleanliness and completeness before distribution.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across clinical departments.
- Using PPE at all times and maintaining a safe, clean working environment.
- Supporting the orientation and training of new staff when required.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, prioritise tasks under pressure, and adapt to change effectively.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to personal development and high standards of patient safety.
- Hepatitis B and TB vaccination or willing to get them, this is a requirement for the role.
- IDSc Membership, NVQ Level 3 in Decontamination or TVQ 1&2 in Decontamination - desirable
