As our Sterile Services Technician, youll be supporting the provision of a safe and effective decontamination and sterile supplies service to departments across the hospital. Every instrument you prepare will contribute to delivering the highest quality care for our patients.This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours a weekThe role requires you to have Hepatitis B and TB vaccinations.Main duties of the jobAs our Sterile Services Technician, you will be:
  • Cleaning, checking, assembling, packing, sterilising, and distributing medical devices in line with strict infection control and safety protocols.
  • Ensuring all instruments are fit for purpose prior to patient use.
  • Monitoring sterilisation and washer-disinfector equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
  • Performing daily validation tests and keeping accurate traceability records.
  • Carrying out quality checks for cleanliness and completeness before distribution.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across clinical departments.
  • Using PPE at all times and maintaining a safe, clean working environment.
  • Supporting the orientation and training of new staff when required.

  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, prioritise tasks under pressure, and adapt to change effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to personal development and high standards of patient safety.
  • Hepatitis B and TB vaccination
  • IDSc Membership, NVQ Level 3 in Decontamination or TVQ 1&2 in Decontamination - desirable
