
Senior Business Development Manager - Planning, Development & Origination

- Conduct in-depth analysis of the UK energy market to identify and originate new project opportunities.
- Prepare and present investment proposals for internal evaluation and approval.
- Lead or support planning activities including public consultation, applications, appeals, and compliance with UK planning regulations.
- Drive grid connection processes, aligning with CP2030 objectives.
- Monitor relevant UK and devolved government policies, NSIPs, and local development frameworks.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to perform due diligence on acquisition opportunities across all stages of development.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and methodologies to ensure alignment with internal standards and business case objectives.
- Oversee project documentation and ensure compliance with technical and contractual requirements.
- Allocate and manage project resources-human, technical, and financial-to meet key milestones and technical standards.
- Support procurement processes for goods and services aligned with project development needs.
- Implement and manage stakeholder and communications plans throughout the project lifecycle.
- Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; Master's or specialization in energy management, regulation, or business management preferred.
- 5-7+ years of experience in the energy or infrastructure sector, with a strong track record in renewable project development in the UK.
- Proven project management expertise across all development stages.
- Experience negotiating a range of agreements, including DSAs, JV/investor agreements, and EPC contracts.
- Solid understanding of UK power sector regulations, planning, and permitting processes.
- Working knowledge of technical design and cost estimation for solar PV, wind, and battery storage (BESS).
- Strong financial acumen with experience in project profitability analysis.
- Well-established network within the UK energy sector.
- Proactive, self-driven, and results-oriented.
- Collaborative and adaptable, with excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving ability.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
