We are recruiting for a Nurse Team Leader for a 12 month fixed term maternity leave cover for Bluebell Ward who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.You will provide positive role modelling, clinical leadership and knowledge to facilitate, supervise and enable high, competent standards of safe, individualised, holistic, family centred care thatis evidence based, in consultation and partnership with the child, their family/carers and theMulti-disciplinary Team (MDT), that recognises the distinct needs of children and young people and ensures the provision of privacy and dignity.You will also assist in the safe, effective, efficient operational management of the department and nursing team, within allocated resources, undertaking delegated responsibility in the absence of the Ward/ Department Matron.This post involves rotational duties over a 24-hour period.At the heart of everything we do are our core values:Include,Respect, andImprove. We encourage you to embrace these values throughout the recruitment process and in your role with us.Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will be responsible for delegating, supervising, identifying, assessing, planning implementing and continuously evaluating the care of all patients, within the unit, in partnership with the children and families.You will ensure that the highest standards of care are delivered to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of each child and their family, facilitating timely discharge, through robust discharge planning and a return to optimal health.The post holder will promote and ensure that due regard and respect are given to the customs, values and spiritual beliefs of children and their families, by all members of the nursing and multi-disciplinary teams.You will also ensure that the physical environment reflects the psychosocial and developmental needs of children and young people, in terms of play, recreational facilities and educational provision.   • Ability to analyse, resolve issues and make sound judgements on clinical issues, using initiative, whilst demonstrating an awareness of own limits.
  • Evidence of implementing and managing change
  • Experience of handling adverse incidents and complaints.
