- Develop and prepare visual materials for therapy and classroom sessions.
- Work closely under the supervision of a Speech & Language Therapist and class teachers to deliver speech and language interventions.
- Provide support to less experienced colleagues, modelling best practices.
- Keep accurate written records of pupil observations and progress.
- Assist in delivering training to other staff and colleagues.
- Carry out general Teaching Assistant duties as required by the school.
- Comprehensive in-house and external training to develop your skills, with opportunities for further qualifications in language and communication.
- Support from the Speech and Language Therapy Department to help you grow in your role.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students, with a focus on providing excellent support for their development.
- Educated to degree level (ideally in a related field such as Linguistics, Psychology, Education, or Speech & Language Therapy)
- Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with Speech & Language difficulties
- A passion for supporting students in their learning and development
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Motivated to continue developing professionally and contribute to the success of the department
