This role is ideal for a graduate looking to build relevant experience before embarking on a Speech and Language Therapy MSc or similar pathway in child development, communication disorders, or education support.You’ll work closely with the school’s SENCO, external Speech and Language Therapists, and class teachers to deliver targeted interventions for pupils with EHCPs, Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), Autism Spectrum Condition, and other communication barriers.What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting children 1:1 and in small groups to develop expressive and receptive language
- Delivering SaLT-led intervention strategies and communication tools (e.g., PECs, visual aids, Makaton)
- Helping to track pupil progress and contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Working collaboratively with SEN staff and therapists to deliver holistic support
- Supporting inclusion within the classroom and ensuring access to the curriculum
- A recent graduate in Psychology, Linguistics, or MFL (2:1 or above preferred)
- A strong communicator with a genuine passion for language development and education
- Experience working or volunteering with children or young people is highly desirable
- Emotionally intelligent, proactive, and patient
- Committed to a full-time role for the academic year
- Earn up to £650 per week while building SaLT-specific experience
