We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Stafford, a category C Prison located in West Midlands.HMP Stafford is a male prison with a capacity of 753, 45% of the population is over 50's.Hours
  • Monday - Sunday service
  • 37.5 hours per week - over 4 days
  • 7.45am - 5.30pm and 7.45am - 4.45pm
  • 1 weekend 3 / 4 a month
SalaryThis position is full time contract, you'll receive an annual salary between £28,247 - £32,346 per annum FTE - depending on experience.How will we support you?

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checksWhat you'll be doingAs a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will
  • Ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
  • Ensuring timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
  • Work together to make a difference to all the people we support, and make Practice Plus Group, a place where each of us feels appreciated, challenged and supported to do our best work – fulfilling the lives of others.
  • Communicate complex or sensitive information whilst demonstrating empathy and understanding to patients.
  • Share information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines optimisation, drug regimes, medicines legislation and general health education so that the multidisciplinary healthcare team are appropriately informed.

  • NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
  • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
  • General GCSE education or equivalent
  • Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Prior to joining Practice Plus Group I spent almost 10 years working in community, but I have found that the prison environment is where I feel I can utilise my skills and truly make a difference. I see patients with complex health issues, I help keep them informed about their medication and support out-patients in managing their conditions day to day.
