Network Recruitment Wales is seeking two Social Workers to join the Children's Services Family and Friends Team in Hengoed for a 12-week temporary assignment to meet short-term demand. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic and supportive environment.What You'll Do:
- Deliver high-quality assessments and care management to children and families, ensuring their welfare and safeguarding needs are met.
- Develop and implement outcome-focused intervention plans, working closely with children, families, and multi-agency partners.
- Maintain accurate case records and provide reports for Court or Panel meetings as required.
- For Fostering Team roles: Recruit, train, assess, and support foster carers, contributing to recruitment and retention targets.
- Collaborate with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes and represent the service professionally.
- A qualified Social Worker with a Degree/Diploma in Social Work and registration with Social Care Wales (or equivalent).
- Up-to-date knowledge of childcare legislation, safeguarding protocols, and evidence-based practice.
- Strong communication, report-writing, and case management skills.
- Experience in multi-agency working, child protection, or care proceedings is desirable.
- A full UK Category B driving licence with business-use insurance and the ability to travel across the borough.
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends when required.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS check and Criminal Convictions Declaration.
- Social Care Wales registration.
- Full UK driving licence and car insurance (business use).
- Health Declaration/Questionnaire.
- Signed Confidentiality Agreement.
- 5 years of references/work history.
- CV and proof of qualifications (Social Work Degree desirable).
