- Non-Medical prescribing (or willingness to undertake under development agreement)
- Autonomous Practice
- Community nursing specialist qualification
- Highly developed knowledge of illness and injury presentation
- Accountability of own role and other roles in a practitioner led service
- Knowledge of local and national health policy
- Knowledge of wider health economy
- Clinical governance issues in Primary Care
- Patient group directions and associated policy
- Knowledge of public health issues
- Able to identify determinants on health in the area
- Knowledge of public health issues in the area
- Significant demonstrable post-registration experience
- Recent Primary Care and/or unplanned and urgent care experience
- Management of minor illness, common ailments and injuries
- Autonomous management of patients presenting with unplanned and urgent healthcare needs
- Autonomous management of patients with long-term conditions
- Management of patients with complex needs
- Communication of difficult messages to patients and families
- Clinical examination, diagnostic and clinical leadership skills
- Clinician-led triage
- Teaching and mentoring clinical setting
- Compiling protocols and clinical guidelines
- Clinical leadership
- Experience od audit and research
- Experience of Nurse Prescribing
