We are recruiting a full time Recovery and Wellbeing Worker to join our Step-Down Team in Wells to support individuals leaving psychiatric inpatient care to transition back to independence. The Step-Down Service is a temporary accommodation that aims to work with clients on their journey from acute services to securing their own accommodation. We work on coproducing strength-based, individual recovery plans that provide strategies to; better manage their mental health, build resilience and nurture positive relationships. From the moment someone moves in, the focus will be on working together to find a suitable housing pathway right for the individual and building practical living skills to support independence and wellbeing.Main duties of the jobYou will provide support through 1:1 sessions with the clients focusing on their individual goals, tailored support plans and levels of interventions suitable for the individual. Throughout the clients stay at the Step-Down house, we will engage with local partners and our wider Open Mental Health VCSE Alliance (OMHVA) support offer to ensure sustained positive outcomes.   • A minimum of two years significant experience working with people with moderate to severe mental health needs.
  • Proven experience of working within a housing environment.
  • Experience of working with people who have experienced multiple disadvantages (e.g. mental health, homelessness, alcohol/drug dependency long term conditions)
  • Experience of working with people with long-term mental health and complex needs including complex trauma, Learning Difficulties, neurodiverse needs and SEND.
  • Experience of carrying out needs and/or risk assessments and the support planning process.
  • You will be practiced at working alongside people using a holistic approach tailored to each individuals needs
  • Experience of time management and competing priorities when supporting people with complex needs.
