Quantity Surveyor - We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a medium sized contractor based in Norwich. You’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. You’ll work closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.You’ll be working for a well-established, medium sized Building Contractor managing projects up to £4 million. Known for value, craftsmanship and timely delivery.Your role:
  • Monitor relevant planning authority web sites and advertisements in the local press to identify work opportunities.
  • Undertake some estimating duties when required.
  • Take off and check off quantities against client schedules of information, requirements, and expectations, and highlight any omissions or errors.
  • Prepare and issue sub-contract enquiries and undertake robust assessment of quotations upon receipt.·Undertake post tender negotiations.
  • Assist in the maintaining of the sub-contract data base.
  • Maintain contract documentation and advise on pretender and post contract matters.
  • Preparation and issue of contractual letters to clients, consultants and / or sub-contractors
  • Undertake post contract liaison with clients and design team
  • Measure and value construction works off plan and on site.
  • Accurately price, negotiate and agree contractual variations.
  • Minimise costs of projects and maximise profitability, without compromising our high standard of workmanship and quality.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely interim valuations and final accounts.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Commercial and Residential experience desirable.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
