- Provide technical inputs to the project work.
- Design and packaging of air intake system components.
- Lead from a technical front and deliver specification targets.
- Conduct component and system-level packaging and concept studies, including feasibility assessments.
- Collaborate with other teams to identify and specify design activity requirements.
- Detail design and prototype production to meet internal and external standards, including GD&T.
- Check designs for release against specifications, ensuring data integrity and resolving build concerns.
- Be the point of contact for day-to-day engineering matters within the design community.
- Identify opportunities to reduce complexity, cost, and weight.
- Ensure the design meets all technical specifications and engineering release deadlines.
- Ensure weight efficiency and accurate documentation of weight in design.
- Assist in specifying and controlling materials to meet technical specifications and legal requirements.
- Discuss proto-build supportability with PD, buyers, and suppliers.
- Update BOM and coordinate testing (DVP/PVP) for part-level execution and homologation.
- Excellent skills with CREO PTC.
- Leadership and motivation in a design role.
- Proven experience with design activities at OEM/Tier-1, with a demonstrable record of accountability delivery.
- Experience with air intake systems, dirty air ducts, air boxes, clean air ducts, engine covers, convolute selection, mountings, material selection, NVH targets, CFD, CAE, DVP, DFMEA, RMDV, DFA, and DFS.
- Strong knowledge of plastic moulding processes.
- Strong track record of delivering design to timing, weight, and cost targets.
- Comfortable with supplier liaison and understanding DFM requirements within project scope.
- Background in industrial heavy machinery (diesel gensets) is preferable.
