- Overseeing the complete development process of fuel system components for diesel engines
- Understanding and managing the complete assembly process
- Providing technical inputs to project work
- Designing and packaging fuel system components
- Leading technical front and ensuring delivery of specification targets
- Conducting component and system level packaging and concept studies including feasibility
- Collaborating with project engineers to outline design activities required
- Detailing component and system design from prototype to production adhering to internal and external standards
- Serving as the point of contact for the design community for day-to-day engineering matters
- Identifying opportunities to reduce complexity, cost, and weight
- Ensuring component designs meet technical specifications, weight targets, and are documented accurately
- Applying experience in DFA (Design for Assembly) and DFM (Design for Manufacturing)
- Engaging in design reviews and engineering releases, ensuring compliance with all requirements
- Excellent proficiency with CREO PTC
- Leadership and motivation skills in a design role
- Experience in design activities at OEM/Tier-1 with a demonstrable record of delivery
- Expertise with fuel systems including fuel lines, filters, and tanks
- Knowledge in mounting systems, material selection, and various design and analysis tools (e.g., NVH, CFD, CAE, DVP, DFMEA)
- Strong understanding of plastic moulding processes
- Strong track record of delivering designs to timing, weight, and cost targets
- Experience in liaising with suppliers and implementing DFM requirements
- Desirable background in industrial heavy machinery, especially Diesel Gensets
