Based in Annesley, this role involves frequent travel to active sites across the region. Candidates should ideally reside within commuting distance of Nottinghamshire.As a Utility Surveyor, you will be responsible for locating, identifying, and mapping underground utilities using a variety of geophysical methods to support design, construction, and maintenance activities.What you will be doing:
- Conduct utility detection and mapping surveys using electromagnetic location (EML), ground penetrating radar (GPR), and other relevant technologies.
- Interpret utility records, statutory plans, and site information to assist in survey planning and execution.
- Accurately record and process survey data using GNSS, total stations, and relevant software packages.
- Produce utility drawings in 2D and 3D CAD/GIS formats as per client requirements and industry standards.
- Assist with the safe planning and execution of surveys in accordance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain and calibrate survey and utility detection equipment.
- Liaise with clients, site teams, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met effectively.
- Contribute to quality assurance by maintaining accurate and organised records of survey data and findings.
- Support in mentoring junior staff and sharing technical knowledge.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvements in utility surveying practices.
- Ensure all company property under your control is maintained and stored securely when not in use.

- Proficient in utility survey methods including Electromagnetic Location (EML) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
- Familiarity with PAS128 methodology and utility mapping standards.
- Competent in the use of GNSS and total station surveying techniques.
- Experience with CAD and/or GIS software for producing utility drawings.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., QCF Level 3 in Utility Mapping, EUSR).
- CSCS card appropriate for role.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Prior relevant experience in utility surveying or a related geospatial field.
