Job Description:About the RoleDP World in the UK is at the heart of Britain's trading future, providing the right trading infrastructure, smart logistical solutions and the benefits of freeport status to our customers. An excellent opportunity has opened within our Operations department for a Berth Planner to join us and be based out of our operation in the London Gateway.Location: Stanford Le HopeKey Responsibilities:
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and communicate effectively across all levels of the business.
  • Maintain and manage a dynamic 7-day berthing plan, adapting to changes and aligning with commercial commitments.
  • Act as the central contact for daily vessel scheduling and movement coordination.
  • Work closely with the Planning Manager to optimise labour deployment, balancing cost and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to align daily maintenance schedules with operational needs.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, shipping lines, vessel agencies, harbour authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Request and manage vessel move-counts and crane splits to ensure accurate labour planning.
  • Lead daily operations briefings, presenting current and upcoming berth plans.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and availability of key operational statistics.
  • Support routine operations with flexibility to adapt work routines as needed.
  • Apply technical skills to achieve operational goals and continuous improvement.
  • Meet customer and stakeholder expectations in line with operational KPIs.
  • Monitor and report on performance metrics.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Proficient in Navis N4, XPS, MS Word, and Excel.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a focus on influencing and collaboration.
  • High attention to detail with strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Confident negotiator with a customer-focused approach.
