Job Category: PeopleJob Description:An opportunity has arisen for a People Assistant to support two sites in Northampton. This role will be site based and will split their time between Swan Valley and Brackmills Industrial Estate.To deliver a generalist HR Support in a professional manner, working as a part of a proactive and responsive team to provide pragmatic and focused HR solutions for the site and wider business.Full Time Equivalent Salary - £25,000 per annum
  • To work with the People Advisors for providing an effective and customer focussed HR service which supports all aspects of an employee's relationship and engagement with the business.
  • To provide advice and assistance on policies, procedures and legislation agreements.
  • To advise, support and guide managers in investigations, performance management, absence management, conduct related disciplinaries, appeals and all family friendly procedures (maternity, paternity, parental leave, flexible working)
  • To provide administration support in the recruitment process from start-to-finish including assisting and guiding managers throughout the process.
  • To assist in the production of HR Statistics and KPIs on a weekly / monthly basis.
  • To develop and maintain close working relationships with key customers (internal and external)
  • To update and maintain the HR Information Systems (Oracle)
  • Producing and maintaining accurate reports and records for all HR issues
  • To ensure that all administration is carried out in a timely, effectively and accurate manner
  • To support the development of strong communication and feedback channels with all staff and through a variety of mechanisms to support employee engagement.
  • To support with the learning and development
  • Reporting to the People Manager
Experience, skills, attributes and the person:
  • A 'can do' solution focused attitude and approach.
  • An understanding in the principles of good HR practice and employment law
  • Resourceful and able to work on own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Works effectively within the team and see the potential in others.
  • Previous HR experience within logistics / distribution is an advantage
  • Excellence in administration including attention to detail, timeliness and accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Confidential and professional approach
