
Environmental & Sustainability Manager

- Ensure ongoing compliance with UK and EU environmental regulations and the site's environmental permit
- Maintain and improve the site's ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
- Lead site-wide environmental initiatives, focusing on pollution control, waste reduction, energy efficiency and water conservation
- Collaborate with site leadership to deliver sustainability goals and best practice
- Submit regular ISO 14001 reports (weekly, bi-monthly, annual) to internal and external stakeholders
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies (e.g. EA, SEPA, local authorities)
- Monitor and report on environmental KPIs, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Develop and deliver environmental training and awareness across the workforce
- Oversee the environmental management system at group level, contributing to wider sustainability initiatives
- Coordinate community engagement activities, such as tree planting and environmental campaigns
- Manage environmental budgets and oversee the performance and compliance of on-site wastewater treatment facilities
- Track and analyse utility usage, identifying cost-saving and efficiency opportunities
- Experience in an Environmental role, ideally within manufacturing, processing or similar
- Hold an Environmental qualification or equivalent practical experience
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and/or related standards (ISO 45001, 50001)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Experience managing wastewater treatment operations
- Prior involvement in Sustainability projects (e.g. carbon reduction, circular economy)
- Knowledge of Environmental reporting tools or digital management systems
- Experience working with regulatory agencies
