Hourly Rate: £18.10 (Umbrella)Please note this role is office based with the expectation of on-site supervision.Job Purpose:To support the effective, efficient, and legally compliant delivery of passenger transport services across Leicestershire, ensuring services meet the needs of residents while maintaining high safety and operational standards.Key Responsibilities:Supervise day-to-day operations of Drivers and Driving Assistants to ensure safe and efficient fleet activityMaintain strong working relationships with internal departments, schools, parents, carers, contractors, and external stakeholdersAssist with recruitment, training, performance management, and induction processes for transport staffCarry out health & safety risk assessments, accident investigations, and ensure regulatory compliance across transport activitiesPrepare operational reports and contribute to service planning and business performanceOversee vehicle inspections and depot compliance with landlord responsibilities and relevant legislationSupport route planning and optimisation using both manual and ICT-based systemsIdentify income generation opportunities and manage operational costsDeputise for the Transport Manager as requiredRequirements:Knowledge of legislation relevant to passenger transport, including safeguarding and accessibilityProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and database systemsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deal tactfully with service users and external partnersAbility to work under pressure, manage priorities, and maintain high standards of accuracyA valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicleEnhanced DBS check required due to working with vulnerable individualsIf this sounds like the right fit for you and you have the skills and experience required, we encourage you to apply.
