Exciting Opportunity: SEN Teaching AssistantAre you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) to achieve their full potential? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you to join our team as an SEN Teaching Assistant at an Ofsted good secondary school in Bramhall.Role Overview:As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and thrive in their learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:One-to-One Support: Providing individualized support to students with SEN, assisting them with their learning activities and helping them to develop essential skills.Classroom Assistance: Supporting teachers in delivering lessons, adapting materials and resources to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN, and promoting an inclusive learning environment.Behaviour Management: Assisting in the implementation of behavior management strategies and techniques to support students with SEN in managing their emotions and behaviors effectively.Personal Care: Providing personal care and assistance to students with physical disabilities or medical needs, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the school day.Progress Monitoring: Monitoring the progress of students with SEN, recording their achievements and identifying areas for further development, and providing feedback to teachers and SENCOs.Collaboration: Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and make necessary adaptations to support the learning needs of students with SEN.Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with students with SEN is desirable but not essential. Candidates with a genuine interest in supporting students with additional needs are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach towards supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced school environment, responding to the individual needs of students.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support, such as CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent, would be advantageous.
