Join us and be part of something bigger.JOB PROFILE DESCRIPTIONIn the Kainos Business Applications Practice, we partner with clients from the earliest stages of their transformation journeys — often where digital maturity is low and the opportunity for impact is high. We help define meaningful improvement goals and deliver change using Microsoft Business Applications, automation, and AI.As a Business Applications Consultant, you will lead discovery and delivery engagements within multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that business needs are clearly understood and that digital solutions are designed for feasibility, scalability, and measurable value. You will bring expertise in AI Business Solutions, guiding clients on how these can improve processes, enhance services, and unlock operational efficiencies.You will
  • Lead the discovery phase of delivery, ensuring business processes, requirements, and outcomes are clearly understood and documented.
  • Identify and assess opportunities for Power Platform and AI solutions, contributing to the prioritisation of a delivery backlog based on feasibility, ROI, and strategic value.
  • Model As-is and To-be business processes, presenting these to stakeholders and the team to ensure understanding and secure buy-in.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of user stories across the project, supporting effective backlog management and delivery planning.
  • Work with client stakeholders, Product Owners, and technical leads to co-design viable MVPs and delivery roadmaps.
  • Promote high standards in process understanding, requirements definition, and stakeholder engagement across the team.
  • Adapt delivery approaches (Agile, iterative, or hybrid) to suit the client’s context and digital maturity.
  • Support the development of delivery standards, tooling, and reusable frameworks within the practice.
  • Actively develop your own skills and share knowledge within the team and wider community.
  • Support in delivering client platform strategy, maturity assessments, and operating model design when required.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience delivering Business Applications or automation projects across discovery, design, and delivery phases.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Power Platform, with awareness of Copilot and AI/automation technologies.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, comfortable challenging decisions where appropriate and tailoring communication styles to different audiences.
  • Accomplished at modelling As-is and To-be processes, and able to communicate these effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent user story writing skills, ensuring quality and consistency across the project.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methods, backlog management, and requirements gathering.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and adapt delivery approaches to suit the context.
DESIRABLE
  • Experience working in complex or regulated environments (e.g. public sector, finance, healthcare).
  • Exposure to designing and implementing operating models and/or Centres of Excellence, including assessing platform maturity (new – added to reflect relevant but non-core experience).
  • Exposure to service design or UX methods, especially in automation or AI-enabled experiences.
  • Involvement in change management and adoption activities for technology-led transformation.
  • Certifications in Power Platform, AI, or process improvement (e.g. PL-200, Lean Six Sigma)
  • Experience contributing to pre-sales activities such as proposals, proof-of-concepts, or client presentations.
