- Documentation creation: Research, write, and produce high-quality technical documents, including:
- Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals for new and existing assets
- Information gathering: Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), including engineers and technicians, to gather necessary information and validate technical content.
- Content management: Maintain and update a technical documentation library, ensuring all information is accurate, up-to-date, and aligns with company standards.
- Compliance and standards: Ensure all documentation adheres to relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., DWI regulations in the UK), as well as company style guides.
- Audience-focused communication: Write for a range of technical and non-technical audiences, from plant operators to field technicians and internal stakeholders.
- Proven experience as a Technical Author or Technical Writer, ideally within the water, utilities, engineering, or a related industrial sector.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
- Experience in researching and interpreting complex technical information and engineering standards.
- Proficiency with technical writing software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Technical Communication Suite) and document management systems (e.g. ProjectWise, SharePoint)
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience with MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) technical documentation.
