Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a passionate Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils in KS1 (ages 5-7) in the Tameside area, with additional learning needs.A welcoming and supportive primary school in the Tameside area is currently seeking a committed and skilled individual for the position of Level 3 SEND Support Assistant. This role involves delivering engaging and enriching learning experiences to pupils across Key Stage 1. The school works closely with parents, a dedicated team of staff, and a proactive governing body to make a meaningful impact on the lives of all their children. The role is initially temporary but has great opportunities to become long-term, due to the needs and demands of a new cohort of children.Location: Tameside (SK15)Job Type: Full-time, 8.15am-3.30pm (long-term opportunity)Salary: £13.75- £14.50 per hourStart date: Monday 6th October 2025What Does the Role Entail?:
  • Create positive relationships with pupils with a range of special educational needs, disabilities and abilities and encourage positive behaviour choices.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Class Teacher and SENCO to implement and adapt learning strategies, creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the class teacher with delivering high quality learning sessions and activities.
  • Lead small group interventions or one-to-one sessions independently to secure understanding of learning and knowledge to support development.
  • Plan, assess and record pupil progress alongside the teacher.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistant Certificate).
  • Experience working with SEND children, in a classroom or small group setting (1:1 desirable but not essential).
  • A calm, caring, and consistent approach, with excellent communication skills.
  • Resilience and adaptability to meet children’s changing needs throughout the school day.
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
