SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Small Heath, Birmingham)
Full-Time Role, Start ASAP, Minimum 1 Academic YearConnex Education are working with a mainstream secondary school in the Small Heath area of Birmingham, who are seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible, with the role expected to continue for a minimum of one academic year. The school’s Headteacher is keen to meet and trial suitable candidates immediately, with a view to an immediate start.We welcome applications from:Level 3 NVQ qualified Teaching Assistants, ideally with SEN experience.Candidates without a qualification but with proven, long-term or permanent experience working as a TA in a UK mainstream secondary school.Key Responsibilities:Providing tailored support to students with additional needs across KS3 and KS4.Assisting in the delivery of lessons and adapting learning materials.Supporting classroom behaviour and promoting an inclusive learning environment.Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to monitor and record student progress.Requirements:Experience supporting SEN students in a UK secondary school setting.A patient, adaptable and empathetic approach.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).What’s on Offer:Competitive rates of pay (dependent on experience and qualifications).A full-time role in a supportive mainstream secondary school.Guaranteed work for at least one academic year.Ongoing support and CPD opportunities through Connex Education.To apply or find out more, contact Claire at Connex on 0121 456 4040 or email .
