- To proactively work with services to support delivery of the Governance agenda and embed learning, evidence based practice and improvement in care
- To ensure incidents are reported, reviewed and analysed in line with organisation policy assisting in the management of Datix
- To support teams in the investigation of clinical incidents and undertake serious adverse events
- Ensure learning from incidents is shared
- To contribute to patient safety and quality governance initiatives as directed
- Under the direction of the Clinical Governance Manager, provide guidance and support on clinical governance processes across the Hospital.
- Contribute to the review of existing practices, ensuring that progressive solutions, which take into account models of best practice and all relevant policies, procedures and legislation are incorporated into Hospital plans and implemented.
- Maintain a Serious incident and Duty of Candour tracker for the hospital.
- Develop support systems for the collection and analysis of data needed to manage the governance agenda to achieve safe and effective high quality services.
- Assist in maintaining a Safety Alert tracker, ensure safety alerts/flashes are shared and action plans completed.
- Attend meetings which contribute to Governance requirements
- Provide assistance in monitoring all aspects of incident reporting and
- Investigation utilising Datix. Preparation of Datix reports as required.
- Support the hospital with ensuring key information is collated, shared and displayed e.g. the Clinical Scorecard, strategies, reports etc.
- Lead on PROMS and VTE, chair meetings, collect, analyse and evaluate data. Ensure hospital wide compliance.
- Lead on the clinical audit programme across the hospital ensuring that a comprehensive programme of high quality audit is in place that supports national and local priorities. Support staff to ensure that there is clear evidence provided and actions identified are both recorded and completed.
- To provide support to teams on developing action plans arising out of clinical audits, complaints and incident investigations
- Contribute to all audit activity, both local and national, inputting data into Audit Management and tracking in a timely manner and supporting robust close out of actions.
- Makes operational judgements, manages conflicting views and reconcile inter and intra professional differences of opinion
- Uses a range of skills which exhibit high performance practices to the customer
- Competent PC user in all windows-based applications
