This position is for a full-time Workshop Instructor in White Goods Refurbishment to work within prison education.
The role will involve supervising offenders in the workshops, ensuring safe practices while supporting them to gain skills that can be used on release.
- Oversee the refurbishment of donated white goods such as fridges, freezers, and washing machines for community use.
- Lead, motivate, and support learners in the workshop, ensuring safety and compliance at all times.
- Induct learners into the workshop, providing guidance on tool use, stock management, and health and safety.
- Promote employability skills, teamwork, and positive behaviours through structured daily routines.
- Set targets and monitor the quality of refurbished items to ensure standards are met.
- Work collaboratively with prison staff and skills coaches to support rehabilitation and learner development.
